Bingewatcher targeting improvements, expanded IRIS.TV integration, header bidding additions, and more!
Core Improvements
Inventory Quality
IAB Tier 2 Categories
SpringServe has expanded IAB category targeting to support IAB tier 2 categories. In supply side inventory quality targeting you can now add allowlists or blocklists for IAB tier 2 categories. This addition is especially useful if you want to block sensitive ads such as alcohol by adding “Cocktails/Beer” to your IAB Tier 2 Category Blocklist.
Support for demand side competitive exclusion targeting is coming soon!
Restricted Audience and Brand-Safe Overrides
Previously, SpringServe automatically blocked restricted audience ads and those which are flagged as not brand-safe. We now allow you to override these settings in the Inventory Quality section of a supply tag.
By default, we do not allow Restricted Audience Ads or Brand Unsafe ads to serve.
Unknown Language Blocking
SpringServe has improved our creative language targeting. Now, when you check Blocking Unknown Creative Language SpringServe will only block unscanned creatives, and not non-audio ads.
Audience Boolean Targeting
You can now create IP list segments for use in boolean audience targeting on the demand side. With this addition, you can implement AND/OR targeting between IP lists and partner segments.
Note that you must reimport existing IP lists as IP list segments to use them for boolean audience targeting.
Feature Additions
Contextual Targeting
SpringServe now supports expanded integration with IRIS.TV for improved contextual targeting.
To activate IRIS.TV segments, click on the icon in the Active column of the Partner Segments tab of the Targeting page. You can also update the status on the Settings tab of an IRIS.TV segment or use bulk actions.
Once activated, IRIS.TV segments will appear when you select Contextual Segments in supply tag Audience targeting.
With this addition, SpringServe has also added Partner Segment Vendor and Vendor Type as a reporting dimensions and filters to make it easier to distinguish between your contextual and other partner segment impressions.
If you are interested in expanded contextual targeting, please talk to your account manager.
Header Bidding
TripleLift SSHB
You can now send podded requests to TripleLift and receive multiple bids back by setting the optional parameters multi_imp_enabled = true and max_imps to the number of impressions you will accept.
Additionally, you can set the optional parameter session_id.
Magnite CTV
You can now set the optional parameter for mctv_ignore_floor_enabled, which allows to accept all bids, independent of the floor.
Magnite DV+
SpringServe now supports Magnite DV+ as both server-side and client-side header bidding adapter.
Apply Floor Rate to Client Side HB
On a supply tag, you can set the RPM floor rate to apply to header bidding demand.
SpringServe now supports this feature for VPAID supply as well as SSB.
UI/UX Improvements
Supply Tag Export
You can now export supply tags and routers to GAM and Freewheel more easily. SpringServe populates macros for these platforms when you select them from the Importing To dropdown on the Export Tag tab of a supply tag.
