More robust targeting, macro overrides in DC, improved quickstats graphs and summaries, and demand partner on creatives.
Core Improvements
Segment Pixels
As we continue to improve the robustness of our support for in-app and CTV traffic, SpringServe now supports IP and Device ID segment pixels in addition to cookie pixels for segment targeting.
After saving a segment pixel and implementing it on your website header or as a third party pixel, SpringServe builds a user pool based on pixel fires. Additionally, this pixel could be placed in 3rd party pixels tracking within SpringServe. For Device ID pixels, make sure to properly pass the device id in the macro. Note that you cannot change the pixel type once the segment pixel has been saved.
IPv6
SpringServe now supports IP addresses using the IPv6 protocol. SpringServe parses the IP address to implement geo targeting, so this expanded support will lead to more accurate geo targeting across your inventory.
Macro Overrides
You can now use macro overrides on your direct connect (DC) supply and demand tags. Expand the advanced section of the settings tab of your DC tag to see the + Macro Override button. Click this button to reveal a dropdown of supported macros. Once you have selected the parameter to override, enter the value in the text box below:
We will be adding more macros to the dropdown based on user feedback. Please let your account manager know if you would like to request an additional macro.
Feature Additions
Expanded OS Targeting
We have added support for additional targeting for SmartCast by Vizio. When Custom is selected in the OS targeting section, you can now select SmartCast (VIZIO).
Like for device and browser targeting, SpringServe parses the user agent to implement OS targeting .
UI/UX Improvements
5-minute Interval on Graphs
For objects that have a sporadic or low request activity, it can be difficult to see patterns when looking at minute data. We have therefore added the option to select a 5-minute interval when looking at graphs in SpringServe.
This interval option is available on the dashboard performance and financial graphs for today and the last hour.
On object quickstats, data for the last two hours will be displayed when the following time periods are selected: today, yesterday, last 7 days, last 24 hours, last 30 days. When last hour is selected, the 12 data points for the last hour will appear. This interval is available for both financial and performance graphs.
This interval can be especially useful when looking at pod supply tags which often have impressions occur in the minute following the request.
Completion vs. 3rd Party Vendor Data
If you are not implementing IAS or Moat post-imp analysis for viewability or invalid traffic, the third panel of object quickstats now displays completion data.
If you are using these third party vendors, viewability and IVT data will be displayed.
With this change, you can access more relevant information on all your SpringServe objects.
Reporting Improvements
Efficiency Rate
SpringServe defines Efficiency Rate as Impressions / Ads. This is an important demand metric to SSPs, and it is now shown in quickstats and index tables. You can also select efficiency rate as a metric when running reports.
Pod Metrics
If your supply clients have SpringServe user accounts or if you send scheduled reports to external supply clients, they can now view reports with Pod Metrics.
Alerts
Demand Partner on Creatives
When creating house ad or creative asset demand tags in SpringServe, the video or audio object will now belong to the same demand partner as the tag. With this update, you will no longer be able to change the partner of a creative asset or house ad demand tag. Additionally, when creating these types of tags in the API, you must include demand_partner_id upon creation.
Ads.txt and app-ads.txt
If you are connected to bidders via Programmatic Connect, update the ads.txt (desktop and mobile web) and app-ads.txt (in-app and ctv) files for you and your partners to include the following lines:
