Feature Additions
Tiles
SpringServe is excited to announce the addition of tiles to our feature offerings. Tiles is SpringServe’s solution to display advertising on connected TV devices. In SpringServe Tile
is a new format on supply routers and tags, demand tags and creatives. With tiles, publishers and advertisers can serve static creative image assets.
Tiles is built around the Native ad format to give customers flexibility with their creatives. Standard responses are in Native OpenRTB format, and custom responses can be organized as well. For more information about tiles, please see our wiki.
If you are interested in testing tiles in SpringServe, please reach out to your account manager.
Core Improvements
Targeting
Companion Ads
You can now specify behavior for demand that returns companion ads. SpringServe provides two options:
- blocking any VAST that returns a companion ad
- removing companion ads from the VAST before serving
In the first case, we will report on VAST error code 1676 if the demand is blocked due to companion ads.
To set this targeting on supply or demand tags, expand the MediaFiles section of the targeting tab.
Creative Language
SpringServe has released Creative Language targeting as a beta feature. Using our BingeWatcher technology, we can detect the language of a creative and allow users to target based off of this attribute. If you are interested in creative language targeting, please let your account manager know.
Creatives
You can now take advantage of expanded targeting options on the creative level. We have added the ability to set targeting on additional attributes:
- Geo: Country, Region, DMA, City, and Postal Code
- User Agent: Device, Brand, Operating System, Browser
- Content: Channel, Episode, ID, Genre, Language, Producer Name, Livestream, Network, Series, Title, and Custom 1, 2, and 3 params
- Key-Values
These targeting attributes can be updated on an individual creative basis or by using bulk actions.
With more targeting options, you have more flexibility in using line item class demand tags.
UI/UX Improvements
Partner Changes
Changing the partner for certain types of objects in SpringServe was previously restricted. We have made usability changes to allow for easier ad operations.
Routers
Router supply partner change is now allowed when child supply tags belong to only that router. When this change is made, the supply partner will also be changed for all child supply tags.
Campaigns
Campaigns can change demand partner when no demand tags are associated to it.
Line Items
Line item class demand tags can now change demand partner when no creatives are associated.
Header Bidding
We continue to add more header bidding adapters, including SmartClip and Video Intelligence. Optional parameters are now easier to use, as we have improved readability of the parameter name.
Reporting Improvements
Scheduled Reports
When scheduling reports that run on a monthly basis, you now have more options for the day of the month for the report to be delivered. Rather than selecting the first or the fifteenth of the month, you can now select days 1 through 28 and the last day of the month.
Supply Client Reports
Content and advertiser domain reports were previously missing impressions and financials. These metrics can now be included in ad hoc reports for SpringServe supply client users .
